DrupalCon Amsterdam Recap
DrupalCon Amsterdam finished almost two weeks ago. It seems like a long time but I am just now coming back home. I spent the week after DrupalCon Amsterdam attending the SymfonyLive event in New York City. These two great back-to-back events made for a fun filled two week trip.
Like all other Drupal events, DrupalCon Amsterdam gave me several experiences to share my knowledge with the community and learn from new and old friends. While it's hard to put Drupal experiences in to specific categories, I have tried my best here in order to share more about my time in Amsterdam.
Training
FFW Reaction offered Symfony2 Introduction/Getting Ready for Drupal 8 training. This was an awesome experience for me, Ray Saltini and Josh Benner. We always enjoy engaging with the community and hope the 26 developers who participated felt like they got a lot out of it too. This training was sold out so please keep checking our training schedule for similar online offerings in the future.
BOF
I also had a BOF discussion on the topic Drupal 8 Console Module, Bringing the Symfony Console Component to Drupal 8, where I had a chance to discuss the current state of bringing the Symfony Console Component to Drupal 8. The Drupal 8 Console is an effort to bring the The Console Component to Drupal 8. The purpose of this project is to leverage the Symfony Console Component to provide a CLI tool to automate the creation of Drupal 8 modules and other recurring tasks.
Drupal Lightning Talks
For the first time ever DrupalCon Amsterdam replaced the third day keynote with lightning talks in the main auditorium. Once I found about this oportunity to mix things up and tap in to the Drupal talent located in one place, I sent my proposal in and was lucky to be selected. I shared details about the project I have been more involed in lately The Drupal 8 Console. Take a look at my presentation slides here. If you have any other questions on this project, let's talk!
I've also put together a list of blog posts and other reactions about this project.
- DrupalCon Amsterdam 2014 Report at Sitepoint

I'll be home for a couple of weeks and then it's off to learn more with the Drupal community at Bad Camp. Follow me on Twitter @jmolivas for the latest on my current projects and new ones that I'll be starting. See you in San Francisco!
