FFW Awarded UK’s Cyber Essentials Digital Security Certification
As part of our ongoing work to help our clients prepare for GDPR, FFW’s United Kingdom team has just been awarded the Cyber Essentials certification. This is a government-backed certification that ensures protection against a wide variety of cyber attacks. We’re dedicated to complying to GDPR, and to helping our clients comply with the new laws as well. The Cyber Essentials certification will ensure that sensitive and personal information of our clients and our clients’ customers will be protected against malicious attacks.
What is the Cyber Essentials certification?
According to CREST, a not-for-profit standards organization in the technical information security industry, The Cyber Essentials certification states that our organization has "appropriate levels of quality assurance processes, security controls, security assessment methodologies and met additional qualification criteria”.
The Cyber Essentials Certification is awarded based on self-reported in regards to our security controls and configurations. The Cyber Essentials Certification demonstrates that an organization has achieved a fundamental level of cyber security that’s necessary to any vendor that is supplying GDPR or public-sector information services.
Who needs a Cyber Essentials certification?
The UK government requires that a web vendor should hold a Cyber Essentials certification if they bid on contracts that involve processing or handling sensitive or personal information. According Gov.uk, "Cyber Essentials is suitable for all organizations, of any size, in any sector.”
FFW is proud to offer our clients the peace of mind that comes with a Cyber Essentials certification. To learn about our secure systems, or to learn about our GDPR offerings, contact us. One of our digital security experts will be in touch.
