NJ and Drupal - Perfect Together
Last year a group of us at the Central NJ Drupal meet up started getting serious about planning New Jersey's first ever DrupalCamp. Blink Reaction and others committed specific resources to making it happen.

We all said it would be a great success if we could send 100 happy campers home at the end of the day. To our surprise and delight we sold 245 tickets and attracted 14 sponsors. Individual sponsors and a Community Grant from the Drupal Association helped us keep the price of admission low. Early and consistent support from our NYC Drupal meet up friends helped us generate momentum early on.
Its scheduling between DrupalCamp NYC in December and DrupalCon in March attracted a lot of attention from session proposers. Thirty-four sessions were submitted by nearly that many talented Drupalists across a broad range of topics and levels. This enthusiasm and higher than expected registration numbers enabled us to add a fourth track to the program.
We were very pleased that so many newcomers turned out to attend FFW's Hello Drupal training session in the morning. We have made a firm commitment to supporting high quality hands-on sequential drupal training as an Acquia Enterprise Select and Training partner.
The commitment made by Princeton University, WDS, IAS, Acquia and the Princeton community at-large was essential to our success. We are grateful to for their support and know that the Drupal community will continue to thrive by their engagement and adoption.
Finally, nothing would have been possible had the planning and program committees and workgroups not pulled together and enjoyed working with one another. Starting with planning meetings in the Fall of 2011 and following through designing logos and building a site theme (FFW built the camp theme in two days to have it ready for the day of the NYC camp), getting sponsors, a great session schedule, the program of the day, building prep, food, signage, AV, recording and so much more. Whew.
And we know our friends in the Northern NJ group have started talking about organizing a camp too. We continue to look forward to supporting their efforts in every way.
For all these reasons we think that NJ and Drupal really are, 'perfect together'. We hope to see you around the neighborhood.
FFW delivers enterprise class websites to clients with complex mission critical needs. Our classes in site building, coding and theming help deliver the power of Drupal to small and medium sized businesses and help enterprise clients leverage Drupal's full potential.
We're proud of our commitment to Drupal and the open source community in NJ and at large. We're sponsoring DrupalCon Denver and look forward to it too being a huge success. See you there.
