Drupal As A Public Good and Renewing our Commitment
I was going to write a blog about Drupalcon Amsterdam and our commitment to Drupal and then I realized the best way to say it was to show it.

Memo to all staff:
I am pleased to announce that starting this quarter FFW will significantly increase our efforts in support of Drupal.
As you know may know, back in June we hired our first full time contributor to the Drupal project - Drupal 8 Solutions Engineer Jesus Olivas.
Now we’re setting the stage for everyone - all 100+ of us - to become a contributor.
In the next few weeks you’ll see an announcement inviting everyone in our NJ office to attend a special Friday sprint prep session to get us ready to sprint the next day around core Drupal 8 issues. Our goal will be to repeat this once a month and get as many participants as possible as often as possible.
After NJ we’ll duplicate this effort in our other offices in MA and Europe. We’ll consider remote sprints too - but we’ll have to figure out some way to have the pizza delivered. ;-)
In addition to these sprints I’m asking our Solutions Team to add a core contribution track to our technical mentorship program - this means that when utilization falls below set goals we want you to be ready to work on the issue queues.
In combination with the regular sprints I think we can collectively make a significant contribution to Drupal.
This isn’t all. You’ll hear more very shortly from me, the solutions team and Ray - our very own Drupal Evangelist.
We’ll roll out special incentives to encourage contributions, help get the ball rolling and keep building momentum.
Finally I want to encourage everyone to watch Dries’ keynote from Amsterdam.
Though we participated in the European Drupalcon in the past, this was the first time I was able to attend.
Dries’ keynote and meeting a whole new great Drupal community inspired me to accelerate the community contribution plans we started earlier this year.
If you watch it I think you’ll be inspired too.
